Culture is not left out of the impact the current digital era has; and for sure it benefits from new perspectives occurring from technology and innovative solutions. Access to creative content and audience development may be highly affected and evolved by the use of new technological means. One capacity building initiative for example was ‘Digital Extra’ an EU funded project aiming at enhancing competence for the creation of digital exhibitions. It ran from 2008-2010 through sequent events and online courses in order to support small and medium sized museums enter the digital world. This initiative does not only assist cultural managers in digitising cultural content but also increases the audience’s access to this content.
