The Institute of Economic Research of the University of Munich along with the University of Jena and the Max Planck Institute of economics have published a working paper about how baroque opera houses attract higher intelligence employment in the area where they are located. ‘For example, a large survey of about half a million individuals in Germany finds that the highly educated full-time employed respondents who moved in the last 10 years in fact rank “cultural offerings and an interesting cultural scene” among the top five reasons for their location choice’.
